COHÉSIF 2026-2027 competition
FRQ Press Release
The Fonds de recherche du Québec, in partnership with the Ministry of Economy, Innovation, and Energy and in collaboration with the national observatory on health and environmental impacts of contaminants (NOHEIC), wishes to inform the scientific community of the launch of a new call for proposals.
The Cohort for the Assessment of Health Effects and Impacts of Smelters (Cohorte pour l’évaluation des effets sanitaires et incidences des fonderies-COHÉSIF) program seeks to better understand the impact of contaminant emissions on the health of populations living in the Rouyn-Noranda region and near Quebec’s industrial hubs. In particular, it aims to establish a research infrastructure that can inform environmental health policies related to the impacts of contaminant emissions from smelters. While the population currently living in or having lived in Rouyn-Noranda is the primary focus of this call, proposed projects must include methods that can be applied to populations living in or having lived near other industrial areas.
