The NOHEIC research community
The National observatory on health and environmental impacts of contaminants (NOHEIC) brings together an interdisciplinary and cross-sectoral research community committed to studying the effects of contaminants on human health and ecosystems.
Rationale for membership
Joining NOHEIC provides individuals involved in scientific research or environmental health action with access to a platform for exchange and collaboration, fostering the advancement of knowledge and the development of context-specific solutions to environmental and public health challenges.

Member profiles
Research community member
Individuals falling within this category must:
- Be affiliated with a higher education institution, a governmental organization, or any other entity deemed relevant by the scientific council;
- Contribute to the activities of the NOHEIC, notably through scientific output such as funded research projects, regular publications, presentations, or the supervision of students involved in research projects financed or supported by the NOHEIC;
- Take part in NOHEIC initiatives, including seminars, symposia, calls for projects, and committees.
Student member
Individuals in this category must:
- Be enrolled in a higher education institution;
- Undertake work related to activities that are funded or supported by the NOHEIC.
This status terminates upon graduation or discontinuation of studies.
Membership commitments and responsibilities
Members are expected to:
- Promote the activities of the NOHEIC, contribute to its scientific development, support its research priorities, and enhance its visibility;
- Encourage co-productions and collaborations among members, particularly in relation to publications, presentations, and funding applications;
- Foster mutual integration of members in their respective research, scholarly outputs, and scientific activities;
- Actively participate in meetings and initiatives that contribute to the collective intellectual and scientific life;
- Clearly acknowledge and highlight the contribution of the NOHEIC in all scientific outputs or activities (research projects, symposia, conferences, roundtables, publications, training activities, etc.).
Membership application and renewal process
To apply for membership, applicants must complete the designated application form. Each submission is reviewed by a designated subcommittee of the scientific council of the NOHEIC. The NOHEIC promotes a diversity of expertise and values collaborative approaches in order to better address the challenges posed by contaminants and their impacts on health and the environment.
Membership is granted for a period of two years and may be renewed upon request. Renewal is contingent upon the expression of continued interest by the member and fulfillment of the required criteria. The scientific council may extend membership for an additional two-year term and reserves the right to reassess members' engagement and contributions at any time to ensure alignment with the mission of the NOHEIC.
