FRQ, February 19, 2026- The Fonds de recherche du Québec – Nature and Technologies sector (FRQ), in collaboration with the ministère de l’Environnement, de la Lutte contre les changements climatiques, de la Faune et des Parcs (MELCCFP), is pleased to announce the launch of the third competition of the Programme de recherche en partenariat sur la réduction des sources de contamination atmosphérique et sonore.

The objective of this program is to develop knowledge or apply existing knowledge to support the reduction of sources of atmospheric and noise contamination from Quebec’s industrial sector.

Research teams must include at least two members:

  • The principal investigator from a university or college;
  • A co-investigator from a university or college.

Proposed research projects must be structured around at least one of the following three research themes:

  • Theme 1: Direct and indirect reduction of industrial sources of atmospheric contamination;
  • Theme 2: Characterization and mitigation of environmental noise sources;
  • Theme 3: Development of decision-support tools related to noise pollution across Quebec.

  • Launch: February 19, 2026
  • Deadline for letter of intent (pre-application): April 22, 2026, 4:00 PM
  • Full application deadline: September 23, 2026, 4:00 PM
